RE: SOUTH AFRICAN JOURNAL OF CLINICAL NUTRITION (SAJCN)

The Editorial Management Committee unanimously decided to change the publishers of the SAJCN. The new publishers of the SAJCN will be Medpharm effective as of 1st January 2008. The decision of the Committee aims to improve the overall publishing management of the SAJCN and offer you a better service. In particular it is hoped that we shall be able to provide a much shorter turnaround time from date of submission to publication.  

As an interim arrangement and with immediate effect all new manuscripts should be submitted electronically to the Editor at demetre@sun.ac.za until further notice. Please ensure that a correct email address is provided in the manuscript for correspondence purposes.

It would also be safer and quicker if all authors who have already submitted a manuscript, which is in the peer review process and have not had an editorial decision on publication yet, to resubmit their original manuscripts to the Editor afresh at demetre@sun.ac.za.

The Editor requests the support and understanding of all the reviewers of the SAJCN to review any allocated manuscripts expeditiously so as to ensure as smooth a transition as possible. The Editor also requests the support and understanding of the authors of manuscripts in the unlikely event of unavoidable delays occurring during the transition period. The necessary efforts will be made to keep any such delays to the very minimum.

Further details on the new process of manuscript submission will be announced as they occur through the ADSA, NSSA and SASPEN websites and circulars, until the new SAJCN website becomes operative sometime within the next fortnight. This announcement then serves the single purpose of an advanced warning regarding future developments.
